atiṣaṇḍa

Atiṣaṇḍa. § 793 (Mausalap.): XVI, 4η, 120 (among the

nāgas who received the white Nāga who issued from the

mouth of Bala-Rāma).

ATIṢAṆḌA . After his death Balabhadra Rāma went

to Pātāla in the guise of Ananta. All the serpents wor-

shipped him. Among them was a serpent named Ati-

ṣaṇḍa. (M.B., Mausala Parva, Chapter 4, Verse 16).

Atiṣaṇḍa m.: A mythical serpent.

He, and other serpents, received the white

snake issuing from the mouth of Balarāma

and entering the ocean 16. 5. 15, 12.
