aprasavadharmin Tatpur. m. f. n. (-rmī-rmiṇī-rmi) Not having

the property of producing, not being prolific; in the Sāṅkhya

philosophy one of the characteristics of Purusha or Spirit,

in contradistinction from prasavadharmin, the property of Matter

and its evolutions, (‘producing’ or ‘prolific’ meaning there

‘changing, becoming transformed’, as ahaṅkāra is a pro-

duct, i. e. a transformation of buddhi &c.): ‘prasavadharmi vyaktaṃ

pradhānaṃ ca . aprasavadharmī puruṣo na hi kiṃcitpuruṣātprasūyate’.
