apiśala Tatpur. m. (
-laḥ) The name of the chief of a re-
nowned family, (the apiśalāḥ or descendants of Apiśala)
and the father of the Ṛṣi āpiśali (Kāsikā: apiśala-
syāpatyamāpiśalirācāryaḥ). Comp. also āpiśala and ā-
piśalīya. E. a neg. and piśala (according to the Gaṇa-
ratnamahodadhi: piśatītyuṇādikalapratyaye piśalaḥ . na piśalo
'piśalaḥ kulapradhānam).
