-staḥ-stā-stam) Afraid of; with a noun
in the abl.; e. g. taraṅgādapatrastaḥ; it may form a Tatpur. with
such a noun, but the instances of such compounds are few,
according to Pāṇini, e. g. taraṅgāpatrastaḥ ‘afraid of a wave’;
but bhojanādapatrastaḥ (not bhojanāpatrastaḥ) ‘afraid of food’.
