    anyatovāta Tatpur. m. (-taḥ) (In Medicine.) A disease of the

    whole eye (sarvākṣiroga); symptoms and etymology are con-

    veyed by the following verse: yasyāvaṭūkarṇaśirohanustho ma-

    nyāgato vāpyanilo'nyato vā . kuryādrujo'ti bhruvi locane vā

    tamanyatovātamudāharanti ‘when the air of the back of the

    neck, of ears, head, jaw, the tendons which form the nape

    of the neck or elsewhere produces excessive pain in the eye-

    brow and eye, they call this (disease of the eye) anyato-

    vāta’. The word occurs also in its uncompounded state,

    e. g. hatādhimantho'nilaparyāyaśca śuṣkākṣipāko'nyata eva

    vātaḥ. E. anyatas and vāta.
