    anuvācana Tatpur. n. (-nam) Causing to recite; esp. in the

    liturg. literature, as the effect of a praiṣa (q. v.) or injunction

    addressed by the Adhvaryu to another priest which causes

    the latter to invite the god or gods to partake of a sacri-

    fice, by reciting certain passages from the Ṛgveda. (Com-

    pare anuvacana.) E. vac in the caus., with anu, kṛt aff. lyuṭ.
