-nam) A ferment, a drug or seed used
to produce fermentation at the distillation of spirituous
liquors. [It occurs in the Śabdachandrikā: saṃdhāne sūtparaṃ
proktaṃ kiṇve'ntardadhanaṃ vipam.] E. antar and dadhana (from
dadh, the older form of dah, kṛt aff. lyuṭ).
