anekāśrita

anekāśrita Tatpur. m. f. n. (-taḥ-tā-tam) Depending upon

more than one, abiding in more than one; according to the

Vaiśeṣika phil. such dependance is the characteristic of

the notion of conjunction (saṃyoga), of disjunction (vibhāga),

of separatedness prevailing between two or more things

(dvipṛthaktvādi) and of the numerals from two upwards. See

anekāśraya or anekāśrita, mfn. (in Vaiśeṣika phil.) dwelling or abiding in more than one.

anekāśrita pu0 anekeṣu āśritaḥ 7 ta0 . vaiśeṣikanaye
saṃyogādiṣu, sāmānyeṣu ca . “saṃyogaśca vibhāgaśca saṃkhyā dvi-
tvādikāstathā . dvipṛthaktvādayastadvadete'nekāśritā guṇā”
iti bhāṣā0 “nityatve sati anekasavavetatvaṃ jātitvamiti”
muktā0 . ekasyā eva vyakternānāvyaktiniṣṭhatve'sya prayo-
gopādhitā . bhavanti ca saṃyogādayaḥ sāmānyaṃ ca tathā .
rūpādernānāvyaktiṣu sattve'pi naikavyakteriti na tasya tathā-
tvamiti bhedaḥ .
