labhyāpyanadhyāyaḥ pāṇyāsyo hi dvijaḥ smṛtaḥ . caurai-
rupaplute grāme saṃbhrame cāgnikārite . ākālikamanadhyāyaṃ
vidyāt sarvādbhuteṣu ca . upākarmaṇi cotsarge trirātraṃ
kṣapaṇaṃ smṛtam . aṣṭakāsu tvahorātramṛtvantāsu ca rātriṣu .
nādhīyītāśvamārūḍho na vṛkṣaṃ, na ca hastinam . na nāvaṃ,
na kharaṃ, noṣṭraṃ, neriṇastho, na yānagaḥ . na vivāde, na
kalahe, na senāyāṃ, na saṅgare . na bhuktamātre, nājīrṇe, na
vamitvā, na sūktake . atithiñcānanujñāpya, mārute vāta
vā bhṛśam . rudhire ca srute gātrācchastreṇa ca pari-
kṣate . sāmadhvanāvṛgyajuṣī nādhīyīta kadācana . veda-

maṣṭakāsu prasāritapādopasthasyopāśritasya gurusamīpe mithu-
navyapetāyāṃ vāsasā mithunavyapetenānirmukte na grāmānte-
charditasya, mūtritasyoccaritasya, yajuṣāñca sāyaṃśabde,
vājīrṇe nirghātabhūmau ca na candrasūryyoparāgeṣu, diṅ-
nādaparvatanādakamprayāteṣūpalarudhirapāṃśuvarṣeṣvākālikam .
ulkāvidyutsajyotipamaparttvākālikaṃ vā . ācāryye ca
prete trirātrarmācāryyaputraśiṣyabhāryyāsvahorātram . ṛtvig-
yonisambandheṣu ca” iti . śaṅkhyo'pyāha . anavyāyeṣvavya-
yanaṃ varjayecca prayatnataḥ . caturdaśīṃ pañcadaśīmaṣṭamīṃ rāhu-
sūtakam . ulkāpātaṃ mahīkampamaśaucaṃ grāmaviplavam . indra-
prayāgaṃ surataṃ ghanasaṃghātanisvanam . vādyakolāhalaṃ yuddha-
manadhyāyaṃ vivarjayet . nādhīyītābhiyukto'pi prayatnānna
ca vegata” iti . “yaddinamahaḥ kriyate taddinamanadhyāya”
ityukteḥ devotsavādidine'pi anadhyāya iti kecit tena
sārasvatotsaveśrīpañcamīdivase rathayātrosavādau cānadhyāyaḥ .
“mahānavamyāṃ dvādaśyāṃ bharaṇyāmapi parvasu . tathākṣaya-
