akṣetraa-kṣetra, as, ā, am, destitute of fields, uncultivated; (am), n. not a proper field, a bad field; not a proper geometrical figure. —Akṣetra-jña, as, ā, am or akṣetra-vid, t, t, t, destitute of spiritual knowledge.
akṣetraa. [na. ba.] Destitute of fields; uncultivated. —traṃ1 A bad field (apraśastaṃ kṣetraṃ); akṣetre bījamutsṛṣṭamaṃtaraivavinaśyati Ms. 10. 71. 2 Not a good geometrical figure. 3 (fig.) A bad pupil, unworthy recipient or (pb) receptacle (of any thing). Comp.—vida. [kṣetraṃ dehatattvaṃ tattvato na jānāti; vid-kvip] destitute of spiritual knowledge; not knowing the true nature of the kṣetra or body (kṣetratattvānabhijñaḥ ātmatvenadehābhimānī jīvaḥ); so akṣetrajña.
