ntākhyaśca ṛturasṛjyata yasmādyadete mukhataeva sṛṣṭāḥ tasmādete
trivṛdādayaḥ svasvajātīyānāṃ madhye mukhyā abhavan trivṛdā-
dīnāṃ mukhyānāṃ madhye brāhmaṇasya mukhyatvaprayuktaṃ vīryyaṃ loka-
siddhaṃ darśayati tasmānmukhasṛṣṭatvena mukhyatvāt brāhmaṇo mukhe-
nedānīmapi vīryyaṃ svādhyāyapravacanādijanyaṃ sāmarthyaṅkaroti
tasmādityuktaṃ vivṛṇoti hi yasmādbrāhmaṇo mukhataḥ sṛṣṭa-
stasmādityarthaḥ .. evamuktamarthaṃ yo veda so'pi mukhena vīryyaṃ-
ṅkaroti mukhasādhyena svādhyāyapravacanādinaivābhīṣṭaṃ sādhayati
ityarthaḥ” iti . “brāhmaṇo'sya mukhamāsīditi” puruṣasūktam ata
eva viprasya mukhajātatvena mukhasādhyasvādhyāyābhyasane eva
vīryyaṃ bhavatītyapyuktam ataeva manunā “vedameva sadābhyasye” dityu-
ktam hārītasaṃhitāyāṃ tu “ṣaṭ karmmāṇi, nijānyāhurbrāhma-
ṇasya mahātmanaḥ . taireva satataṃ yastu varttayet sukhamedhate
adhyāpanaṃ cādhyayanaṃ yājanaṃ yajanaṃ tathā . dānaṃ prati
grahaśceti ṣaṭ karmmāṇīti cocyate” iti “vedañcaiva sadābhyasyet
śucau deśe samāhitaḥ dharmmaśāstraṃ tathā pāṭhyaṃ brāhmaṇaiḥ śuddha-
mānasaiḥ vedavat paṭhitavyañca śrotavyañca divāniśi
śrutihīnāya viprāya smṛtihīne tathaiva ca dānaṃ bhojana-
manyacca dattaṃ kulavināśanam . tasmāt sarvaprayatnena veda
śāstraṃ paṭhet, dvija iti” ca . “sattvapradhānā viprāḥ syuriti
bhāratokteḥ viprasya satvapradhānatayā “brāhmaṇakṣattriyaviśāṃ

brāhmaṇasya svabhāvāt jātaṃ karmmeti” . “mukhajātādayopyatra
agre prathamaṃ janma yasya . caturmukhe brahmaṇi, “yo vai brahmāṇaṃ
vidadhāti pūrvaṃ yaścāsmai prahiṇoti vedamiti” “hiraṇya
garbhaḥ samavarttatāgre” iti ca śrutau parabrahmasakāśāt tasya
prathamotpattiruktā, tadutpattiprakārastu manunā “so'bhidhyāya
śarīrāt svāt sisṛkṣurbahudhā prajāḥ . apa eva sasarjādau
tāsu bījamavāsṛjat . tadaṇḍamabhavaddhaimaṃ sahasrāṃśusamaprabham
tasmin jajñe svayaṃ brahmā sarvalokapitāmaha” ityanenoktaḥ .
