adhyūdhnī Bahuvr. f. (
-dhnī ) The penis (or according to another
interpretation perhaps, the urethra). This word occurs esp.
in the ritual works, in passages treating on the Agnisho-
mīyapaśu (q. v.) and the ceremonies connected with it. E.
adhi and ūdhas, samāsānta ādeśa anaṅ and fem. aff. ṅīṣ,
scil. iḍā; literally: the tubular vessel above the scrotum.
