ád-bhuta, a., aus ati-bhūta gekürzt: was über das irdische Dasein, die irdische Erscheinung hinausgeht, daher 1) überirdisch, wunderbar, von den Göttern, insbesondere dem Agni; 2) geheimnissvoll, von Dingen, die eine tiefere Bedeutung haben, als die äussere Erscheinung ahnen lässt; 3) unsichtbar, besonders deutlich in {298,12}, wo der Gegensatz des Sichtbaren (dṛ́śya) hervortritt, so auch von dem noch im Schoosse der Zukunft Verhüllten ({170,1}; {25,11}).
