abhyukṣaṇam

abhyukṣaṇam 1 Sprinkling over, wetting; parasparābhyukṣaṇatatparāṇām (tāsām) R.16.57. -2 Consecration by sprinkling; (prokṣaṇa, abhyukṣaṇa and avokṣaṇa are thus distinguished; uttānenaiva hastena prokṣaṇaṃ parikīrtitam | nyañcatābhyukṣaṇaṃ proktaṃ tiraścāvokṣaṇaṃ smṛtam ||).

Abhyukṣaṇam — slightly different from Prokṣaṇam; the

former is for articles of diet, etc. and the latter for flowers,

grass, etc.; details of the śrāddha.
