iti . satyāṃ śraddhāyāmarthakriyākāriṇī medheti śraddhāyā abhyarhi-
tatvam ‘…therefore Śraddhā is more respected (i. e. oc-
cupies a higher rank than Medhā)’; or Jaiminīyanyāy.:
tathāpi parapratyakṣātsvapratyakṣasyābhyarhitatvena sparśa evātrānuṣṭheyo
na sarvaveṣṭanam ‘because that which is before one's own eyes
is preferable to (i. e. more to be relied upon than) that
which is before other's eyes’, &c.; or Jayam. (on the po-
