abhisandhā

abhisandhā Tatpur. f. (-ndhā) ¹ Speech, word, declaration

(with the implied sense of deliberateness); e. g. Chhānd. Up.:

sa yadi tasya kartā bhavati (i. e. if a man has committed a

theft) tata evānṛtamātmānaṃ kurute (and by denying it makes

himself untrue) so'nṛtābhisaṃdho'nṛtenātmānamantardhāya paraśuṃ

taptaṃ parigṛhṇāti sa dahyate'tha hanyate . atha yadi tasyākartā

bhavati tata eva satyamātmānaṃ kurute sa satyābhisaṃdhaḥ satyenātmā-

namantardhāya paraśuṃ taptaṃ parigṛhṇāti sa na dahyate'tha mucyate.

satyābhisaṃdhena trivargamanutiṣṭhatā . pālitā sā purī śreṣṭhā indre-
